The resume is only words about the past. We will let our diners write our future together with us. Come in for one of the best dining experiences you will have, in a great environment. Eric Heath and Jennifer Cleveland met at Desert Edge Brewery at The Pub in Salt Lake City, Utah. Eric worked in the kitchen as the Chef and Kitchen Manager, and Jennifer worked in both the kitchen and the dining room. She also worked in the kitchen at The Tin Angel. After a short period of knowing one another, the couple discovered a shared obsession with food, and a mutual desire to eventually have a restaurant of their own. At that point, the two of them set about on the path to make that dream come true.

The first step was to attend the Culinary Institute of America at Greystone in The Napa Valley, California. While there, Jennifer received “The Culinary Award” for outstanding cooking. Each one graduated with an even greater enthusiasm for the restaurant industry and what they could contribute. During the very intense Culinary program and continuing after graduation, Jennifer and Eric compounded their education by working at places such as Jole, Ad Hoc, Farmstead, and The French Laundry.

The couple is incredibly grateful for having had such amazing teachers and mentors along the way, and will continue the tradition with their own establishment. It is because of these friends, family and mentors they are excited to bring ClevelandHeath Restaurant and Bar to Edwardsville, IL at 106 Main street in the historical Boehm Building. Let’s eat!

ElijaH Barnes • Bar & General Manager

Eli.jpg

Elijah Barnes is the General Manager for Cleveland-Heath Restaurant & Bar.  He has been in restaurants since 2007 and has been in customer service for over 15 years.  Although his emphasis has been Management for the last several years, Elijah put a focus on learning Mixology, early in his career.  When Cleveland-Heath opened, he, along with Jennifer Cleveland and Eric Heath, constructed the bar program, based on the image that they had for the restaurant's progressive and local brand.  Since, he has received his Certificate as a Specialist of Spirits through the Society of Wine Educators in 2014. In 2017 Elijah was named a "Ones to Watch in 2017" by Sauce Magazine due to his skills and the well crafted bar program he crafted and continues to manage for Cleveland-Heath; later that year he earned 'Bartender of the Year' in Sauce Magazine's Reader's Choice..  You can still catch him behind the bar a few nights a week, shaking (and stirring) it up.

Keith & Kari McGinness - Owners & Operators

Keith_kari.jpg

Hello! We are Keith and Kari McGinness. We recently moved back to this wonderful area and established new ownership of Cleveland Heath - an Edwardsville staple and favorite go-to restaurant for comfort foods, with an exciting and progressive flare. We are both originally from the midwest area, and we love being back home. Together we share a combined experience of over 30 years in restaurant and hospitality. Our dream has always been to own and operate a restaurant that has a passion for buying locally, supporting its community, while offering guests something “special” and “unique” with a cozy, inviting, and warm appeal attached. Cleveland Heath has made that dream a reality for us. It has been an honor and privilege for us to work alongside Jenny and Ed. They are not only true professionals and talented chefs, but they are our dear friends, as well. We plan to continue to maintain the outstanding service and creative chef-inspired menu that the area has grown to love. Our goal is for every guest to feel at home and always comfortable, while enjoying culinary masterpieces and speciality cocktails created for all palates, personalities, and tastes. When you visit us, we want you to leave feeling content, happy and full!  Stop in and say hello to us; we can’t wait to meet you!
